The world gets to see figures of history through paintings, statues, and the description of documents from the past. Other than those sources, there is no way to imagine their appearance.
This was something that was bothering Becca Saladin a digital artist from Texas. She has been thinking about a way to figure out these people in a way that is not weird as seeing them through a marble statue or exaggerated paintings that differs from each other. Putting her creativity and skills into use, she studied the available resources and mimicked them to create digital illustrations of these historical people in a modern-day context.
She created these pictures by combining, drawing, illustrations, and also photography to compile her “Royalty Now” series. These pictures have been created through a very complex process of editing and illustrating while referring to the available sources of these figures.
Her project has been a success to create portrait illustrations to fit these people right as if they were people living in the modern-day context. She believes that putting her designs in the nature she did makes it easier for us to grasp their nature rather than putting them in clothing which was worn those respective ages.
This series reached a large audience as soon as it was uploaded to the internet. A lot of people expressed positive comments on her work and shared it all over the world.
