20 Creative ‘Onigiri’ Art Crafted By This Japanese Artist

The world consists of different kinds of cultures. Various parts of the world represent these cultures and they have their own way of doing things. But since the world is getting closer and closer now, all these cultures, traditions, and exotic elements fuse with each other and the people all around the world get to experience them.

This article is about such a different type of element in the far East, Japanese culture. Onigiri is a food presentation method practiced by the Japanese for a long time back. These dishes are made with rice, seaweed, sesame seed, salmon, and much more. They are traditionally formed in cylindrical or triangle shapes when presented for dining. But recently, we found and creative food artist in Japan, practicing this art in a newer form.

Known as Onigiri Gekijō on Instagram this artist takes the traditional boundaries of the shapes away and created their own designs. This artist creates different shapes of animals and characters that are often surfaced in Pop culture. Onigiri Gekijō, which is “Rice Ball Theatre” when it is translated to English, really stands up to its name. Creating these figures on the plates is a very hard task that requires, high levels of concentration, skill, and dedication.

This artist creates some interesting collections of these characters and gets the attention of a lot of people all over the world. This is a good method to spread the world of this traditional food art by incorporating the practice by using Pop culture characters to connect with the rest of the world.
