The world we live in is an incredible place. It has so many things that will leave us in awe. It is so fascinating how things can be so diverse, beautiful, and fit into the same cycle of life to coexist with one another. Natural beauty is enjoyed for a very long time and it has been the inspiration for many works of art, especially photography.
This is a different concept that has been tried out by this very talented and creative photographer Zak van Biljon who is based in Zurich. He observed that many art forms such as painting, drawing, cinema, and others have the freedom of augmenting reality to make a surrealistic piece of art that is loved by many people. As a photographer, he is only allowed to capture the image artistically of the subject as they are. So he decided to bring in his own form of surrealism while sticking to the norms of a photographer. This is how his photo series ‘Modernising Nature’ was made. Using infrared photography on natural landscapes gives you a totally different view of it.
He chose the world-famous mountain range; the Alps. The green, blue, and white shades of this natural environment are captured on Biljon’s camera like never before. The Hues of red, magenta, and pink were all over the landscape making this real picture get a form of surrealism.
The advancements and the changed that society and its people take when moving into the future has an impact on art itself, even though photography is not about creating art but for capturing it in an artistic nature, this talented and very creative photographer has found a way around to modernize and give a different view of the natural photos of Nature in a way that the modern society and art forms will accept with interest.
